Baby Massage
I trained with the International Association of Infant Massage, (IAIM) and was certificated to work as an Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI), in May 2007. Infant/Baby Massage is, in my opinion, a wonderful experience for all involved. It fits beautifully with the ethos of Protective Behaviours as it provides an opportunity for babies to experience feeling safe with their parent/carer and have their feelings acknowledged. Witnessing an adult asking a baby’s permission before attempting to massage allows the baby to have a voice and the adult to practise listening. If only I’d known more about this when my children were babies. However, it’s never too late to experience loving touch and we all need that to thrive!
